Information concerning video surveillance

Information concerning video surveillance at Lantmännen's facilities and offices.

Introduction and contact information

Lantmännen operates video surveillance at several of its facilities in Sweden. Which locations and areas are under surveillance can be identified by signs displayed in connection to the respective site. The purpose of this page is to provide you with detailed information about our video surveillance as a complement to Lantmännen's privacy policy.

Lantmännen ek för ("Lantmännen"), org. no. 769605-2856, Sankt Göransgatan 160 A, 112 17 Stockholm, is the data controller for the surveillance of the office premises in Stockholm and Malmö. If you have any questions concerning the surveillance at these premises, or any of our other facilities, please contact us at: dataprotectionofficer@lantmannen.com

Detailed description of the video surveillance

Through fixed cameras, we collect and process personal data in the form of video recordings. Those who may appear in recorded material include Lantmännen's staff, consultants, suppliers and their employees, as well as other visitors to the facilities and offices.

Purpose of the video surveillance

Video surveillance is used to enhance the safety and security of our facilities and offices and those present there, including staff, consultants, suppliers and other visitors. The purposes are to:

  • prevent and deter criminal acts such as theft, vandalism and unauthorised access to facilities and production areas,
  • prevent security incidents and provide evidentiary support in the investigation of such incidents, including documenting deviations and damages in the flow of goods in order to ensure the quality of delivered goods and improve our processes,
  • enable swift responses in the event of incidents and accidents and facilitate evacuations, and
  • enable remote control of access points at goods reception.

The surveillance is limited to non-work areas such as entrances, exits, loading bays, car parks and similar spaces. Staff and others present at monitored premises are therefore not monitored in the course of carrying out their ordinary work duties.

Recorded footage is retained for a period of no more than 21 days from the time of recording. Material may be retained for a longer period where necessary to investigate and detect crimes or incidents.

Legal basis and disclosure of video footage

The legal basis for the processing is legitimate interests pursuant to Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Lantmännen has a legitimate interest in monitoring its facilities and offices, which primarily consists of enhancing safety and preventing crime and disorderly conduct. Lantmännen also has a legitimate interest in enabling remote control of certain entrances and goods reception areas through the use of real-time cameras. Our assessment is that these interests outweigh the individual's interest in not being filmed, and that they cannot be achieved by less privacy-intrusive means.

To minimise the risk of breaching personal privacy, we have implemented technical and organisational security measures to protect recorded material from unauthorised access, modification, distribution or destruction. We have also chosen to retain recorded material for a short period of time and ensure that only a limited number of people have access to it. We also use real-time cameras where it is not necessary to record footage and have procedures in place governing how recorded material may be handled and disclosed.

Those who have access to the footage, beyond a limited group of Lantmännen employees, are those who assist us with the surveillance (e.g. security companies and IT suppliers who store recorded footage). The police and other authorities may also gain access to the footage should we decide to pursue a matter, or where we are legally obliged to disclose it.

Your rights

As video surveillance involves the processing of personal data, you have certain rights under data protection legislation, including the right to a register extract, rectification, erasure and restriction of processing. Full information about your rights is available in Lantmännen's privacy policy.

As the processing is based on a balancing of legitimate interests, you also have the right to object at any time to the processing of your personal data. If you object, we will cease the processing unless we can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds that override your interest in not being monitored.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority if you believe that we are not processing your personal data in accordance with the law. Should you wish to exercise your rights or find out more about them, please contact us using the contact details above.
